These Epic Motorsports performance headers are designed to bolt up in place of the restrictive stock headers. A stepped primary retains torque and gives more area under the curve while providing the ultimate horsepower levels required for full race use. The larger diameter secondary pipes will require an aftermarket Section 1 or exhaust replacement, or custom fabrication.

Epic Motorsports Solidifies Dominance at NASA Nationals in Ohio for the Second Consecutive Year in GTS

Epic Motorsports, a well-known BMW engine building and tuning company based in Miami, Florida, pulls off the hat trick by winning the two qualifying races and the Championship race.

The National Auto Sport Association German Touring Series (NASA GTS) consists of production based race cars built from the various German manufacturers. The cars are classed using a power to weight formula that makes for a level playing field with very tight and competitive road racing.

NASA has an annual gathering of well over 300 cars that compete nationally in their respected classes. The championship format is comprised of two qualifying races that set the grid for the final Championship race.

The weather conditions were continuously changing over the three race days which required constant setup changes for race teams.

Randy Mueller piloted the Epic Motorsports BMW E46 M3 to the checker flag in the Thursday qualifying race in a commanding fashion. Starting 4th, he managed to make his way to the front by the 3rd lap and maintained the lead until the checker was thrown.

For the second qualifying race, Mueller started on the pole. As the cars were heading to the grid, the skies opened up making for treacherous conditions which required a last minute change to a wet setup. With poor visibility and excessive standing water making track conditions similar to driving on a sheet of ice, Mueller lapped the course 3 seconds faster than his competitors which resulted in a solid victory.

The two first place finishes granted starting from the pole position of the 42 car field for the Championship race on Saturday afternoon. From the drop of the green flag, Mueller was gapping the field and set a new track record of 1:30.553 until a full course yellow occurred. On the restart the, starter threw the green flag for the wrong car which was further back in the field. Mueller was driving under the speed for a full course yellow in anticipation of being picked up by the pace car when several cars bunched behind him blew past at full speed capitalizing on race control’s error. It didn’t take much time for Mueller to charge back to the lead he held before the full course yellow. He continued to hold the 1st place position until the checker flag was thrown.

In general BMW’s had a very strong showing. Epic Motorsports would like to congratulate those who managed to stand on one of the highly sought after steps of the podium at NASA Nationals at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course; especially, those in the GTS Series.

In GTS 4, the first and third steps were filled by drivers whose engines were calibrated by EPIC.

In GTS 3, all three steps were occupied by drivers that had one of EPIC’s custom calibrations. In fact, the top 6 finishers in GTS 3 had their engines calibrated by EPIC Motorsports! Congratulations to Jamie Frauenburg (GTS4 3rd place), Josh Smith (GTS3 1st place), Eric Wong (GTS3 2nd place) and Stefan Sajic (GTS3 3rd place), the EPIC podium drivers who made it to NASA Nationals and more importantly the checker flag. In one of the biggest fields of the weekend, the GTS race had 42 cars take the green flag. Number 0 Randy Mueller (Miami, Fla.) in his GTS4 category BMW M3 took the lead from pole position. On lap four the GTS4 No. 171 Porsche of Jay Matus (Pearland, Tx) flipped over and landed on its wheels in turn five. Behind Mueller, Scott Bove (Conifer, Colo.) in his No. 22 BMW M3 was embroiled in a battle with No. 15 Chris Streit’s (Naperville, ILL) Porsche.

The battle allowed Mueller to get out to a six-second lead at the races half-way mark. On lap 12, the second full-course caution of the race flew, bunching the large field together. On the restart Mueller, with Bove in tow took the win with Streit ending up in third.

In GTS1 Jean-Pierre Verbunt (Ancaster, Ont. Can.) won in his No. 894 Porsche 944. In GTS 2 John Graber (Bay Village, OH) took the trophy in his No. 643 Porsche 944 with Steve Ott (Houston, Tx) winning GTS3 in his No. 172 Porsche Boxster.

“It was exciting and full of drama,” Mueller said. “There were cars everywhere, two full-course yellows. One of the yellows wasn’t followed by a green. I got jumped on the restart, not expecting to go green, so I had to make up the time. It made it a little more exciting. The car was pretty good. Not as good as it was in the dry the other day. It was good enough to get it done today, that is for sure.”

Through custom ECU tuning, we are able to add over 80 hp and 110 ft/lb of torque in addition to improving drivability by increasing boost level, modifying BMW’s dual variable cam timing (VANOS), drive by wire tables, and fuel and  ignition maps. The vehicle’s top speed governor is removed. Custom software modifications for catless downpipes are also available (for off-road use).

Through custom ECU tuning we are able to add over 80hp and 110ft/lb of torque in addition to improving drivability by increasing boost output, modifying BMW’s dual variable cam timing (VANOS), drive by wire tables, and fuel and  ignition maps. The vehicle’s top speed governor is removed. Custom software modifications for catless downpipes are also available for off-road use.

ECU Tune for 2007-2013 BMW 3 Series E90 E92 E93 M3

Through custom ECU tuning we are able to provide more usable horsepower and torque outputs by modifying BMW’s dual variable cam timing (VANOS), drive by wire tables, and fuel and  ignition maps. Better part-throttle drivability is also obtained. The vehicle’s top speed governor is removed.  Custom software modifications for headers or other modifications are available. Rear O2 sensors monitoring, as well as other emission related items, can be disabled upon  request for race cars and/or off-road use only vehicles.
